Free Wireless Internet Access in Hotels

When small independent hotels need all the marketing edge they can get, free WiFi access is a small but significant opportunity. Let’s assume you have a successful website that has high Google profile and is generating 80+% of your bookings, (excluding any hotel portal sites you might belong to). You are therefore competing effectively with your competitor hotels, both large and small. Don’t spoil it by charging for internet access. Your high profile website can then promote Free WiFi at every opportunity.Surely, guests are more likely to stay in the hotel if they can work online for nothing. Executives are more likely to meet colleagues and, in so doing, order food and drink – as long as they don’t take up one of your lounges for an impromptu conference! In these days of economic constraint, executives will also be encouraged to keep expenses to a minimum and WiFi charges will be frowned upon, especially if the hotel bill reflects the style and luxury of the hotel…and small luxury independent hotels offer a far better ’stay’ than hotels that belong to a group.Leisure guests will also appreciate free WiFi enabling them to browse the internet anywhere in the hotel and even on the terrace.

Don’t forget, you need to add the fact that your hotel has free internet access as a signature on all your emails and ensure your reception team promotes the fact at every opportunity, both in email responses to enquiries and on the phone.
